Derrick Crews, Lieutenant (Ret.)

Biography

Derrick Crews, a retired law enforcement officer, served as a Lieutenant with nearly three decades of sworn experience. Throughout his career, Derrick held various roles, including supervisor for the agency’s Criminal Investigative Division, Patrol Supervisor, CALEA Manager, Use of Force Coordinator, SRO Supervisor, Internal Affairs investigator, EOD member, and Assistant Team Commander for SWAT.

In 2018, he achieved his Force Science Analyst Certification, and in 2023 successfully completed the Advanced Force Science Specialist Course. Additionally, he received his POST’s tactical officer certification. As a recognized instructor, Derrick possesses a wide spectrum of current and former instructor credentials, encompassing Defensive Tactics, CEW, Use of Force, Physical Fitness, Gracie Survival Tactics II, and De-Escalation. In 2019, he secured national certification as an instructor through the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training, subsequently developing two nationally certified training courses through their National Certification Training Program.
