Biography

Dr. John Azar-Dickens is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in Forensic and Police Psychology. While maintaining a private practice, Dr. Azar-Dickens continues to develop and deliver training as a partnering instructor for Force Science. His law enforcement programs are taught throughout the United States and Canada, covering human performance in use-of-force encounters, advanced de-escalation, crisis management, mental health issues, and officer wellness.

In his private practice, Dr. Azar-Dickens conducts forensic psychological evaluations in support of attorneys, agencies, and judicial systems. These evaluations provide insight into violent tendencies, sexual offending, psychopathology, parental fitness, and child custody risks.

Dr. Azar-Dickens also practices in Police Psychology, providing support to first responders involved in critical incidents, conducting fitness for duty evaluations, and administering pre-employment psychological evaluations.

Dr. Azar-Dickens is uniquely qualified to address the challenges faced by first responders. In addition to his clinical practice and training programs, Dr. Azar-Dickens has been a police officer for the City of Rome, GA. Serving as a police officer since 2011, he is currently assigned to the department’s Selective Enforcement Unit.

Dr. Azar-Dickens holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology, a Master of Science Degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion, a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Psychology, and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Azar-Dickens is licensed as a psychologist in Georgia.
