Course Requirements

To demonstrate the mastery of the material presented within this course, participants will need to meet all of the following requirements successfully.

Watch Lectures

Participants will be required to watch ALL 19 video lectures for each of the eight sessions in their entirety. Individuals who do not watch the entire lecture or attempt to fast forward the video will not be able to proceed to the next session.

Each lecture ranges from 1 hour to 2.5 hours in length.

Study Guide

Participants will be required to complete the course study guide in full and upload upon completion in order to take the final quiz and practical exam. The study guide may be completed by hand or using the fillable form feature of the PDF.

Session Quizzes

Participants will be required to complete a timed quiz for each session A passing score of ≥ 70% is necessary to proceed to the next session in the course.

Final Exam

Participants will be required to complete a final open-book 50 question practical exam applying course materials to three real-life cases.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the certification the same?

Yes! The certification earned from completing this course is the same as if you had taken the course at one of our onsite training events.

Will I need to take an exam?

Yes. The online course has six timed session quizzes and an open book practical exam of which participants need to receive a passing score of ≥ 70% on each.

In the event of a failed quiz or exam, the participant will need to attend a live remote open office hour with one of our instructors to review the material before reattempting the quiz and/or exam.

What is your refund policy?

You can request a refund up to 30 days after paying for access to an online course, provided you have not yet accessed the materials. In such cases,  20% of the course fee will be charged as an administration fee.

Any request for refunds after 30 days following purchase, or once you have accessed the online materials if approved, will receive a credit note which can be used towards an in classroom Realistic De-Escalation Instructor Course. Credit notes expire after 12 months.

All refund requests must be made to help@forcescience.org and include a brief explanation of the reason for the request.
